who we are

Western Heritage Cowboy Church was established  to offer everyone, not just cowboys, a place to worship.  Wear what you want, come with whom you want... just come.  You will be welcomed, and have the opportunity to sing, worship, and fellowship with a loving congregation.  Join us this week to study God's word and learn how to become the person God wants you to be.

mission Statement

Western Heritage Cowboy Church is about being and making disciples of Jesus Christ. At WHCC, we are focused on authentic faith while not being too concerned with the externals of religion. This means we act the same way on Monday as we do on Sunday. We desire to be wholeheartedly committed to the Worship of God, fully engaged in the Mission of the Gospel, our mission is the same mission Jesus Christ gave us in Matthew 28: 19-20:  "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Membership in the Western Heritage Cowboy Church is open to anyone who meets the following qualifications:
  • A personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
  • Baptism as a personal commitment and a public confession of faith in Christ as a testimony for salvation.

Russ Bristol

Senior Pastor
The Lord moved me into Senior Ministry in 2014 when I accepted the position of Senior Pastor at WHCC.  My wife, Melissa, and I have two sons, Blake and Drew.  Our family fell in love with the community and the church family, and we knew God put us in this special place called Goldthwaite.   If you are looking for a church home, we would love to have you come visit us at Western Heritage Cowboy Church of Goldthwaite.

I moved to Goldthwaite in the spring of 2022.  I've lived in many places, but this has been my favorite by far.  God has given me the gift of connecting with people, especially young people, and I strive to use that gift to glorify His kingdom.  If you are reading this, know that Jesus loves you, and I do too!

I knew at the age of 16 that God was calling me to a ministry in leading worship. God called me to serve Western Heritage Cowboy Church in 2017.  My love of music and leading worship has grown through the years, leading me to
scripture to better understand the message behind the lyrics within each song. I have been blessed with a beautiful wife, Brandi, and 5 children, and we would love to worship with you at Western Heritage Cowboy Church.

Children's Ministry
Having grown up in Goldthwaite, this town and community hold a special place in my heart. And I have always known when it was time to raise my family, this is exactly where I wanted to be. God has laid a passion for children’s ministry on my heart, and I am so blessed and thankful that I get to serve both God and our amazing community here at Western Heritage Cowboy Church.
